Dr. Beebe,
I have some questions – I have two weanlings and a yearling that so far have no soundness issues, but I don’t want to wait until I do. Is it OK to feed them the OCD pellets as a prevention and if so, for how long? I also have an 8 yr old with a subcondylar cyst in her P2 rear leg – the University tried drilling to release pressure, but it’s still there. Will this help her?
Thank you,
Cindy
Cindy,
You are absolutely correct. Prevention is much better than cure, particularly when addressing bone issues. We have many weanlings/yearlings being fed OCD Pellets to provide the skeletal system with the proper nutritional requirements for the formation of strong bone. Although we have been able to resolve many subchondral cysts, I have not had one in an eight year old. However, due to the fact bone is always remodeling I feel confident the OCD Pellets will certainly help. You would have to feed 2 oz. per day to your 8 year old and only 1 oz. per day for the yearlings.
Thank you for your interest in OCD Pellets. Have a great day!!!
Respectfully,
Dr. D.R. Beebe
